Ah, the tilt. If a poker gambler states never to have stared faced over the barrel of a looming poker tilt – they’re either lying or they have not been wagering very long. This does not indicate of course that everyone has been on tilt before, a number of people have great willpower and take their losses as a loss and keep it at that. To be a powerful poker player, it is absolutely crucial to appraise your wins and your losses in the same way – with little emotion. You compete in the game in the same manner you did after taking a hard beat like you would after winning a great hand. Many of the poker masters are not attracted by tilting after an awful loss as they are highly seasoned and you must be to.

You must be certain that you won’t win every hand you are in, even if you are the front runner. Hands that frequently cause people go on tilt are hands that you were the favorite or at least thought you were until you were rivered and you lost a gigantic chunk of your bankroll. Awful beats are going to happen. Face that certainty right now, I’ll say it again – if your sister plays cards, if your father enjoys cards, if your grandparents enjoy cards – They have all had bad defeats sometime. It’s an inevitable outcome of competing in Texas Holdem, or in reality any type of poker.

Since we are assumingly (most of us) playing poker for one purpose – to win cash, it certainly makes sense that we would wager accordingly to maximize profits. Now let us say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you take a large hit in a No Limits game and your stack is down to $120. You have burned eighty dollars in a round where you were sure to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you went all-in on the flop and held a 10 – 1 advantage. And that amateur! He banged you out on the river? – Well stop right here. This is a quintessential opportunity for a fresh player to start tilting. They really just burned too much $$$$ on one round that they should have won and they’re aggravated
