Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
